Donna Lee Graves, of Redmond, died Nov. 7, 2008, in Seattle. She was 77.
Per Donna’s wish, there will be no service.
Donna was born Dec. 31, 1931, in Seattle, the daughter of Julius J. Brolio and Genevieve C. Mitchell. She graduated from Issaquah High School in 1949. Later, she also lived in Redmond and Salem, Ore.
Donna first married Edward Burke on Aug. 23, 1952, in Seattle. They divorced in 1964. Donna married Robert Graves on Jan. 25, 1965. They divorced in 1978.
Donna was Issaquah Chamber of Commerce president in 1983 and 1993. She served on the Miss Issaquah Pageant Board of Directors, and in 1982 she co-founded Issaquah Women Professionals.
Donna was named as the first inductee to the Salmon Days Spawnser Roll in 1989. She was involved in the festival since its origination and was festival chair in 1991 and 1992. She was named Issaquah’s Citizen of the Year in 1999 for her leadership and volunteer activities.
Donna worked in Issaquah for Powers Insurance. She purchased the company in 1980 and then sold it in 2000.
Donna is survived by daughters Cindy (Burke) Miller, of Salem, Ore., Pam (Burke) Stevens, of Issaquah, and Theresa (Tish Burke) Geldart, of Burlington, Wash.; son Russell Burke, of Issaquah; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Julius, mother Genevieve, and sister Mae Brolio.
Memorial donations may be made to Issaquah Salmon Days Festival.
