Overlake plans new, larger clinic

Overlake Hospital Medical Center announced Nov. 12 that its Medical Center Issaquah would move to new quarters in the soon-to-be-built Overlake Center at 5728 E. Lake Sammamish Parkway.
The news had been expected since August, when details of the project were presented to the Development Commission.
Overlake’s Medical Center Issaquah will be the anchor tenant, leasing 9,300 square feet for its Urgent Care Clinic, Anticoagulation Clinic, Breast Health and Women’s Services, primary care physicians’ offices and a classroom. Read more

Kari Magill has been promoted to chief executive officer of Rowley Properties. She replaces her father, Skip Rowley, at the helm of the 54-year old company founded by his father, George Rowley Sr.
Magill assumed her new responsibilities Aug. 1. She previously served as the company’s chief operating officer, a position she held since 1994. Read more

The small eatery in Gilman Village, which serves breakfast and lunch and devotes half of its space to a delectable selection of colorful candy, started a new composting program last month in an effort to help decrease its waste and environmental impact.
“We’re very excited,” head chef Lynn Rehn said. “It’s a cleaner way of working. It feels more productive.” Read more

Bellevue engineering firm plans move-in for late 2009

Plans are being reviewed for construction of an office building at the northeast corner of Newport Way and Juniper Street.
The proposed two-story structure would accommodate offices for the Abossein Engineering Corp., a Bellevue firm, and offer about 5,300 square feet of space. The structure will also house a 13-stall parking lot on the ground level.
The plan is in the process of getting a site development permit. The project has already passed a state-mandated State Environmental Policy Act environment checklist and received approval concerning on-site wetlands. Read more
